Rev. Prof. Cornelius Van Til, Ph.D. (3 Mei 1895 – 17 April 1987) yang lahir di Grootegast, Belanda, adalah seorang filsuf Kristen, theolog Reformed dan presuppositional apologist. Pada usia 10 tahun, beliau pindah bersama keluarganya ke Highland, Indiana. Keluarga Van Til menjadi anggota Gereja Kristen Reformed (Christian Reformed Church), dan Cornelius bersekolah di sekolah yang berhubungan dengan denominasi ini, the Calvin Preparatory School, Calvin College dan (selama satu tahun) Calvin Theological Seminary, semuanya di Grand Rapids, Michigan. Beliau beralih ke Princeton Theological Seminary untuk menyelesaikan pendidikan theologianya dan meraih gelar Master of Theology (Th.M.) di tempat ini pada tahun 1925. Secara bersamaan, beliau belajar filsafat di Princeton University dan menyelesaikan gelar Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) pada tahun 1927. Disertasinya berjudul “God and the Absolute,” membandingkan pandangan theologia Reformed tentang Allah dengan kemutlakan akan filsafat Idealisme. Pada bulan September, 1925, Van Til menikah dengan Rena Klooster dan memiliki seorang anak laki-laki, Earl. Rena meninggal pada tahun 1978.
