JESUS AND MUHAMMAD:
Profound Differences and Surprising Similarities

by: Prof. Mark A. Gabriel, Ph.D.

Publisher: Front Line, Florida, 2004

Simple Description from Denny Teguh Sutandio:
Most people claim that all religions are same. Is that statement true? NO. One of the examples is the great differences between Christianity and Islam. Eventhough most people especially many “Christian” pastors (who deny the infallibility and inerrancy of the Bible and other orthodox doctrines) claim that Christian and Islam worship one God, the fact tells us that Christianity and Islam are different religions. A person who proves that fact is Prof. Mark A. Gabriel, Ph.D., a Christian evangelist which was a former lecturer of Islamic History at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. In his book Jesus and Muhammad, Dr. Gabriel explains some similarities between Jesus and Muhammad especially in their childhood and also many and great differences between them in their doctrine and the way spreading their messages to people (especially Gentile). Before explaining similarities and differences between Jesus and Muhammad, Dr. Gabriel tells us his personal testimony: his childhood in devout Muslim in Egypt, his study in Islamic history until his doctoral thesis, some questions that he asked to his previous lecturers, and the way that he found the Truth in Christ. After explaining similarities and differences between Jesus and Muhammad, Dr. Gabriel continues his personal testimony: what’s happened after he converted to Christianity. I believe that this book is prohibited to be sold in Indonesia, but I know that Indonesian translation of this book has been already downloadable in a website: faithfreedom. I think that this book is an academic book both for Christianity and Islam in order to understand Christianity and Islam well, because Dr. Gabriel has studied Ph.D. in Islam and Ph.D. in Christian education.
